Factores que afectan la carga electrostática en polvos cerámicos

open access: yesBoletín de la Sociedad Española de Cerámica y Vidrio, 2011
The phenomenon of electrostatic charge in ceramic powders takes place when the particle surfaces enter in contact between them or with the containers. The accumulation of electrostatic charge is of relevance in ceramic powders in view of their insulating

Zein‐Based Adhesives: Sustainable Extraction and Application in Bioadhesive Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Zein is extracted from corn gluten meal using a simple and scalable process with high yield (~90%). The resulting protein is applied in bioadhesives modified with Ca2+ and Fe3+ ions, exhibiting substrate‐dependent adhesion. The findings demonstrate competitive bonding performance and highlight the role of ionic interactions in tuning adhesion ...

Electric charge within volcanic plumes on Earth and Io [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Field, experimental and theoretical investigations have been carried out into the electrification of volcanic plumes. At Sakurajima volcano, Japan, ground-level perturbations of the atmospheric electric potential gradient generated by particulate plumes ...

Tribo-electric Charging and Adhesion of Cellulose Ethers and their Mixtures with Flurbiprofen [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The pervasiveness of tribo-electric charge during pharmaceutical processing can lead to the exacerbation of a range of problems including segregation, content heterogeneity and particle surface adhesion.

Full Color Copying

open access: yesCHIMIA, 1994
Electrophotographic powder toners, often called 'electronic ink', typically consist of 90–95% resin (polyester, styrene-acrylic), 5% colorant, 1–3% charge control agent (CCA), and other additives like waxes. CCAs are needed for the correct toner

Incorporation of charge discreteness and ion correlations into lattice models of ionic liquids

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry
Lattice-based mean-field models of ionic liquids neglect charge discreteness and ion correlations. To address these limitations, we propose separating the short-range and long-range parts of the electrostatic interaction by truncating the Coulomb ...

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Resistive damping implementation as a method to improve controllability in stiff ohmic RF-MEMS switches [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper presents in detail the entire procedure of calculating the bias resistance of an ohmic RF-MEMS switch, controlled under resistive damping (charge drive technique).
