Arthropod prey vary among orders in their nutrient and exoskeleton content
Insectivores gain macronutrients and elements from consuming arthropod prey, but must also deal with indigestible components (i.e., exoskeleton) of prey.

Collembola’s role in regulating mass fluxes in soil and the effects of contrasting life histories [PDF]
The study determined metabolic rates and elemental pools for two Collembola species with contrasting life histories. The fittest of the two species, P. minuta, excreted the equivalent of 10–12% of the elemental body content per day, and P.

Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Elemental partitioning as a route to decrease HAZ hardness
In the present study, in order to find out a valuable method to decrease the hardness of heat-affected zone (HAZ), elemental partitioning was introduced before welding simulation to realize elemental redistribution. The results demonstrate that about 10%

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.
