A global meta-analysis of woody plant responses to elevated CO2: implications on biomass, growth, leaf N content, photosynthesis and water relations

open access: yesEcological Processes, 2022
Background Atmospheric CO2 may double by the year 2100, thereby altering plant growth, photosynthesis, leaf nutrient contents and water relations. Specifically, atmospheric CO2 is currently 50% higher than pre-industrial levels and is projected to rise ...

Photosynthesis and yield response to elevated CO2, C4 plant foxtail millet behaves similarly to C3 species

open access: yes, 2019
Foxtail millet (Setaria italica) is a nutrient-rich food source traditionally grown in arid and semi-arid areas, as it is well adapted to drought climate. Yet there is limited information as how the crop responses to the changing climate.

Carbon fluxes in a mature deciduous forest under elevated CO₂ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This PhD thesis addressed several major aspects of the carbon (C) cycle in a c. 100-year-old, mixed deciduous forest under elevated CO₂ with an emphasis on below-ground processes.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Terrestrial ecosystems, increased solar ultraviolet radiation and interactions with other climatic change factors

open access: yes, 2007
Based on research to date, we can state some expectations about terrestrial ecosystem response as several elements of global climate change develop in coming decades.

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Evaluation of the Effect of Photosynthesis on Biomass Production with Simultaneous Analysis of Growth and Continuous Monitoring of CO2 Exchange in the Whole Plants of Radish, cv Kosena under Ambient and Elevated CO2

open access: yesPlant Production Science, 2004
The effects of elevated CO2 (approximate doubling of atmospheric CO2 concentration) on the rate of photosynthesis estimated from continuous monitoring of CO2 exchange in whole plants were investigated in radish cv.

Impacts of elevated atmospheric CO2 on nutrient content of important food crops [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This dataset contains detailed cultivation conditions and nutrient concentrations of over 1000 samples of the edible portions of 41 cultivars of six major crop species grown between 1998-2010 across three continents at ambient and elevated atmospheric ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Response of seed yield and its components of red gram (Cajanus cajan L. Millsp.) to elevated CO2

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2010
Pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan L. Millsp.) is an important grain legume crop of the semi arid tropics and is a major dietary protein source. The extra short duration cultivar of pigeon pea ICPL 88039 was evaluated at ambient(370 μmol/mol) and twice the ...
