CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Effects Elecitors on Prophenonoloxidase and Superoxide Anion Activities of Freshwater Prawn, Macrobrachium malcolmsonii [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The prophenoloxidase and superoxide anion activity of haemocyte lysate supernatant (HLS) from Indian River Prawn (Macrobrachium malcolmsonii) were examined by treating HLS with various factors such as an increase in temperature from 25 to 60 C and ...

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Establishment of feijoa (Acca sellowiana) callus and cell suspension cultures and identification of arctigenin - a high value bioactive compound

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
Feijoa (Acca sellowiana (O. Berg.) Burret), also known as pineapple guava, is a member of the Myrtaceae family and is well known for its fruit. Chemical profiling of the different tissues of the feijoa plant has shown that they generate an array of ...

Disassociation Intuitions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We should disassociate ourselves from wrongdoing. If Hobby Lobby is against LGBTQ rights, we shouldn’t shop there. If Old Navy sources their clothing from sweatshops, we shouldn’t buy them.

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Tropospheric ozone as a fungal elicitor

open access: yesJournal of Biosciences, 2009
Tropospheric ozone has been proven to trigger biochemical plant responses that are similar to the ones induced by an attack of fungal pathogens,i.e. it resembles fungal elicitors. This suggests that ozone can represent a valid tool for the study of stress responses and induction of resistance to pathogens.

Fungal cellulase is an elicitor but its enzymatic activity is not required for its elicitor activity [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, 2014
Summary Plant‐pathogenic fungi produce cellulases. However, little information is available on cellulase as an elicitor in plant–pathogen interactions. Here, an endocellulase ( EG 1) was isolated from R ...
