The Culture of Subordination and the Deep Contradiction of OPEC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) came into being principally to check at the temporary level and totally eliminate at a permanent stage the exploitation that exists in a North- South relationship. International relations had been full

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Inference methods for a pseudo-boolean satisfiability solver [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We describe two methods of doing inference during search for a pseudo-Boolean version of the RELSAT method. One inference method is the pseudo-Boolean equivalent of learn-ing. A new constraint is learned in response to a contradiction with the purpose of

Resolving the Cu(bdc) Conundrum: Identifying Non‐Porous Packing of Prototypical Coordination‐Network Thin Films Combining Advanced Diffraction Techniques and Computational Modelling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solution‐processed Cu(bdc) forms prototypical MOF thin films for which a multitude of not fully satisfactory structural models have been suggested. Combining rotating grazing‐incidence diffraction and X‐ray reflectivity on two complementary samples with density‐functional theory, we first discard the previously suggested models and then identify a non ...

The Simple Truth

open access: yesJournal for the History of Analytical Philosophy
F. H. Bradley argues that any plurality of objects possessing qualities or standing in relations to one another is impossible because it leads to a vicious regress.

Surveillance Capitalism or Democracy? The Death Match of Institutional Orders and the Politics of Knowledge in Our Information Civilization

open access: yesOrganization Theory, 2022
Surveillance capitalism is what happened when US democracy stood down. Two decades later, it fails any reasonable test of responsible global stewardship of digital information and communications.

Is It Real Type‐II or S‐Scheme? A Three‐Phase Diagnostic Protocol for Identifying Potentially Mislabeled Heterojunction Photocatalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Diagnostic analysis via the heterojunction validation funnel. The funnel illustrates the hierarchical stratification of 30 reported Type‐II systems based on the three‐phase, seven‐step diagnostic framework. Complete validation through all phases is achieved by only 3.3% of systems, while 96.7% lack full mechanistic validation, revealing a pervasive ...

The Dilemma Posed by Minority Medical Traditions in Pluralist Societies: The Case of China and Canada [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Pluralistic societies such as China and Canada frequently find themselves pursuing potentially contradictory goals. China\u27s contradiction results from a desire to preserve cultural diversity while eliminating ‘backward tendencies’ which work against ...

Ethnoconfessional Policy Towards Poles in the Military School of the Russian Empire (1830s – 1860s)

open access: yesЖурнал Фронтирных Исследований
The relevance of the topic of this study is caused by the necessity of identifying the causes of negative attitudes of Poles towards Russia and of eliminating the false stereotypes in the interpretation of imperial policy towards Catholics in general ...
