Thin Fluoride Insulators for Improved 2D Transistors: From Deposition Methods to Recent Applications

open access: yesphysica status solidi (RRL) – Rapid Research Letters, EarlyView.
2D materials hold significant promise for next‐generation electronic and optoelectronic devices, but suitable gate dielectrics are still a challenge. Fluoride insulators, offering inert, dangling‐bond‐free surfaces, have recently emerged as strong candidates. This review covers recent publications on high‐quality fluoride thin‐film deposition and their

High‐Rate Thermal Evaporation of CsPb(Br1−xClx)3 Thin Films and their Optoelectronic Properties for Photovoltaic Power Converters in Optical Wireless Power Transmission

open access: yesphysica status solidi (RRL) – Rapid Research Letters, EarlyView.
CsPb(Br1−xClx)3 films are deposited by high‐rate thermal evaporation, with bandgaps tuned from 2.38 to 2.76 eV by adjusting Cl content. The optimal x = 0.58 composition shows ≈100 nm min−1 deposition and ≈3.91 μm carrier diffusion length. A prototype device achieved 1.38% AM 1.5 G efficiency, with an estimated ≈11.7% under 455 nm light, indicating ...

Coupling Phase Switching with Generalized Brewster Effect for Tunable Optical Sensor Designs

open access: yesphysica status solidi (RRL) – Rapid Research Letters, EarlyView.
A multilayer Sb2Se3/Au heterostructure exploits the generalized Brewster effect to achieve strong absorption for both polarizations at a single incidence angle. Coexisting points of darkness with phase singularities enable ultrasensitive optical sensing.

Toward a Dynamically Reconfigurable Pixelated Reflective Display: Focused Ion Beam for Phase‐Change Metapixel Structures

open access: yesphysica status solidi (RRL) – Rapid Research Letters, EarlyView.
A reflective metasurface on Sb2Se3/Au is created by focused‐ion‐beam milling to produce isolated submicron pixels with vivid structural colors. By assembling three primary pixels into metapixel units, the design establishes a foundation for tunable reflective displays.
