Low phosphate activates STOP1-ALMT1 to rapidly inhibit root cell elongation

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Environmental cues profoundly modulate cell proliferation and cell elongation to inform and direct plant growth and development. External phosphate (Pi) limitation inhibits primary root growth in many plant species.

Translation Elongation and Recoding in Eukaryotes

open access: yesCold Spring Harbor Perspectives in Biology, 2018
Summary In this review, we highlight the current understanding of translation elongation and recoding in eukaryotes. In addition to providing an overview of the process, recent advances in our understanding of the role of the factor eIF5A in both ...

Importance of cotton fiber elongation in fiber processing

open access: yes, 2020
Developing cotton fibers with improved tensile properties is important because fiber breakage during processing from field to yarn can impart imperfections in the finished product by degrading fiber quality.

Effect of Light Intensity on Gene Expression in Hypocotyl during the Elongation in a Leaf-Yellowing Mutant of Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.)

open access: yesAgronomy, 2022
Light is vital for plant growth and development, and the germination of many plant seeds and the development of seedlings are very sensitive to the light environment.

Protein synthesis rates and ribosome occupancies reveal determinants of translation elongation rates

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 2018
Significance Although sequencing of ribosome footprints has uncovered aspects of mRNA translation, the determinants of ribosome flux remain incompletely understood.

Optimasi Kondisi Pengeringan Mie Singkong dengan Response Surface Methodology Terhadap Karakteristik Produknya

open access: yesAgritech, 2019
Wet cassava starch noodles have been developed in Srihardono Village, Pundong-Bantul District. The disadvantage of this noodle is the short shelf life. The objective of this study was to determine the optimum drying conditions to obtain the best quality ...

The effect of additional sucrose on the value of tensile strength and elongation of chicken legs gelatin film

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Pharmaceutical Technology & Research, 2023
Gelatin is a clear, flavorless, and colorless biopolymer formed by the denaturation of collagen protein in animal tissues. Gelatin is an important ingredient in the manufacture of capsule shell films. The tensile strength and elongation values of gelatin

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Rice OsDOF15 contributes to ethylene-inhibited primary root elongation under salt stress.

open access: yesNew Phytologist, 2019
In early seedlings, the primary root adapts rapidly to environmental changes through the modulation of endogenous hormone levels. The phytohormone ethylene inhibits primary root elongation, but the underlying molecular mechanism of how ethylene-reduced ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...
