Raspberry leaf blotch emaravirus in Bosnia and Herzegovina: population structure and systemic movement

Molecular Biology Reports, 2020
Raspberry leaf blotch virus (RLBV) is the putative agent of the homonymous disease and even though Bosnia and Herzegovina is a major producer worldwide there is no report of the virus presence in the country. We studied the virus population structure and assessed its ability to move systemically.

Exogenous dsRNA-mediated field protection against Pigeonpea sterility mosaic emaravirus

Journal of Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2021
Pigeonpea sterility mosaic emaraviruses (PPSMVs) cause sterility mosaic disease in pigeonpea which significantly reduce the crop yield. Currently there are no effective management strategies available for the control of these emaraviruses or their vector eriophyid mites.

A putative new emaravirus isolated from Ailanthus altissima (Mill.) Swingle with severe crinkle symptoms in China

Archives of Virology, 2022
A putative new emaravirus, named "ailanthus crinkle leaf-associated emaravirus" (ACrLaV), was detected in Ailanthus altissima with severe crinkle symptoms by RNA-Seq and RT-PCR. Four viral segments associated with ACrLaV were identified and fully sequenced, except for a few nucleotides at the genomic termini.

Invisible vectors, visible impact: The role of eriophyoid mites in emaravirus disease dynamics

Virology
Emaraviruses are segmented, negative-sense RNA viruses that are transmitted by eriophyoid mites. Advances in virus detection and discovery have significantly improved our understanding of these viruses, yet several challenges persist. This review emphasizes the significant gaps in our knowledge of virus replication, transmission dynamics, and plant ...
