Long term costs and effects of reducing the number of twin pregnancies in IVF by single embryo transfer: the TwinSing study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Contains fulltext : 87274.pdf (publisher's version ) (Open Access)BACKGROUND: Pregnancies induced by in vitro fertilisation (IVF) often result in twin gestations, which are associated with both maternal and perinatal complications.

Embryo Transfer

open access: yes, 2022
Assisted reproductive technologies (ART) have made tremendous advances, in last years. Artificial insemination is a method for achieving slow genetic progress in populations of animals. Many large and small ruminants are bred by AI, and more than a half million embryos are transferred every year around the world.

#48 : Blastocyst Versus Day-3 Embryo Transfers After In Vitro Maturation with Pre-Maturation Step (CAPA-IVM) in PCOS Patients

open access: yesFertility & Reproduction, 2023
Background and Aims: IVM combined with a pre-maturation step known as capacitation IVM (CAPA-IVM) improves the competence of in-vitro matured oocytes. According to our previous study, the current clinical practice of transferring day-3 embryos resulted ...

The effect of transferring a poor-quality embryo together with a good-quality embryo on the singleton birth weight: A retrospective cohort study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Reproductive BioMedicine, 2022
Background: Embryo quality may affect birth weight among neonates born through assisted reproductive technology. There are very limited studies assessing the adverse effect of transferring a poor-quality embryo with a good-quality one on neonatal ...

Obstetric and perinatal outcomes following frozen and fresh embryo transfer in patients with endometrial hyperplasia and carcinoma: a retrospective study in a high-volume reproductive center

open access: yesBMC Pregnancy and Childbirth, 2023
Background There is ongoing debate regarding which embryo transfer procedure can achieve a higher live birth rate. Research has suggested that frozen ET might be beneficial for certain populations, such as hyper-responders.

Development of extra-embryonic membranes and fluid compartments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
An account of the development of extra-embryonic membranes in the embryo of poultry. The roles of these membranes in the transfer of water from albumen to yolk and to embryonic tissue is ...

ERBIN limits epithelial cell plasticity via suppression of TGF‐β signaling

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In breast and lung cancer patients, low ERBIN expression correlates with poor clinical outcomes. Here, we show that ERBIN inhibits TGF‐β‐induced epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in NMuMG breast and A549 lung adenocarcinoma cell lines. ERBIN suppresses TGF‐β/SMAD signaling and reduces TGF‐β‐induced ERK phosphorylation.

In vitro production of bovine embryos derived from individual donors in the Corral® dish [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Background: Since the identity of the embryo is of outmost importance during commercial in vitro embryo production, bovine oocytes and embryos have to be cultured strictly per donor.

Redox‐dependent binding and conformational equilibria govern the fluorescence decay of NAD(P)H in living cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this work, we reveal how different enzyme binding configurations influence the fluorescence decay of NAD(P)H in live cells using time‐resolved anisotropy imaging and fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM). Mathematical modelling shows that the redox states of the NAD and NADP pools govern these configurations, shaping their fluorescence ...
