Single nucleotide polymorphisms of PCP pathway related genes participate in the occurrence and development of neural tube defect

open access: yesMolecular Genetics &Genomic Medicine, Volume 11, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
A new GC genotype was found at VANGL1 c.346G>A, which resulted in the transformation of the 116th amino acid from alanine to proline. Allele and genotype distribution of VANGL1 c.346G>A between case and control groups were statistically different. The expression of FZD6 in NTDs fetuses was significantly increased, but no difference in VANGL1 expression

Transcriptomics reveal an integrative role for maternal thyroid hormones during zebrafish embryogenesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Thyroid hormones (THs) are essential for embryonic brain development but the genetic mechanisms involved in the action of maternal THs (MTHs) are still largely unknown.

CeiTEA: Adaptive Hierarchy of Single Cells with Topological Entropy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CeiTEA, a novel hierarchical clustering algorithm based on topological entropy, effectively captures complex structures underlying data. By constructing an adaptive multi‐nary partition tree, CeiTEA reveals hierarchical structures and local diversifications, outperforming existing methods in clustering accuracy and consistency and providing the ...

Biomimetic Chemotactic Motion of Self‐Assembling Doublet Microrobots

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This article studies the shape‐dependent chemotaxis of different morphologies including self‐assembled doublet microswimmers that exhibit autonomous movement in hydrogen peroxide H2O2 gradients. Without the need for complex material preparation a novel type of chemotactic active matter is produced, which allows the separation of propulsion and cargo ...

Single‐cell RNA‐sequencing of retrieved human oocytes and eggs in clinical practice and for human ovarian cell atlasing

open access: yesMolecular Reproduction and Development, Volume 89, Issue 12, Page 597-607, December 2022., 2022
Abstract With the advancement of single‐cell separation techniques and high‐throughput sequencing platforms, single‐cell RNA‐sequencing (scRNA‐seq) has emerged as a vital technology for understanding tissue and organ systems at cellular resolution. Through transcriptional analysis, it is possible to characterize unique or rare cell types, interpret ...

Application of Somatic Embryogenesis in Woody Plants.

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
Somatic embryogenesis is a developmental process where a plant somatic cell can dedifferentiate to a totipotent embryonic stem cell that has the ability to give rise to an embryo under appropriate conditions.

A Tobacco Homolog of DCN1 is Involved in Cellular Reprogramming and in Developmental Transitions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Plant proteomes show remarkable plasticity in reaction to environmental challenges and during developmental transitions. Some of this adaptability comes from ubiquitin-mediated protein destruction regulated by cullin-RING E3 ubiquitin ligases (CRLs ...
