Effects of co-culture with multipotent endometrial stromal cells during in vitro production of bovine embryos [PDF]

open access: yesArquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia
In vitro embryo production (IVP) protocols generally use supplementation with fetal bovine serum (FBS) in its culture media. Although it contains essential nutrients and growth factors for the embryo, exposure to serum can affect embryonic morphology and

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Determination of non-invasive viability markers for human embryos in in vitro fertilization.

open access: yes, 2010
The major challenge currently facing human in vitro fertilization (IVF) programs is the prevention of multiple gestation pregnancies. The replacement of multiple embryos to fertility patients is common practice to increase pregnancy rates.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Investigation of DNA repair in human oocytes and preimplantation embryos

open access: yes, 2010
DNA repair genes are expressed in mammalian embryos and in human germinal vesicles, however, little is known about DNA repair in human preimplantation embryos.

The occurrence of dicotyledonar embryos in Agave tequilana

open access: yes, 2014
Agave tequilana Weber is a monocot plant species member of the Asparagaceae family. One of the characteristics of monocot species is that their embryos show only one cotyledon.

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...
