Electrocardiographic characteristics in EMD
Resuscitation, 1989Little has been written concerning the initial electrocardiographic (EKG) characteristics and/or changes which occur as the result of treatment in the electromechanical dissociation (EMD) patient. The purpose of this retrospective study was to determine predictive indicators of successful resuscitation in EMD by evaluating various EKG parameters ...

Comparison of EMD and Complex EMD in Signal Processing
2008 Congress on Image and Signal Processing, 2008As an extension of Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) in complex, Complex Empirical Mode Decomposition (CEMD) is a powerful tool for complex data. The characteristic of CEMD under the complex white Gaussian noise has been studied. It is proved that CEMD is a dyadic filter bank.

Illumination changes cause object appearance to change drastically and many existing tracking algorithms lack the capability to handle this problem. The Earth mover's distance (EMD) is a similarity measure that is more robust against illumination changes.

On the component properties of the EMD method
2021 5th International Conference on Digital Signal Processing, 2021The empirical mode decomposition (EMD) method has been applied successfully to various scientific and engineering areas since proposed. Despite certain attempts to analyze its properties, it is still lacking in a unified theory basis. In order to gain a better understanding of the EMD method, its sifting process and the resulting intrinsic mode ...

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2007
In this paper, a signal-filtering method based on empirical mode decomposition is proposed. The filtering method is a fully data-driven approach. A noisy signal is adaptively decomposed into intrinsic oscillatory components called intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) by means of an algorithm referred to as a sifting process.

EMD Sifting Based on Bandwidth
IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2007Empirical-mode decomposition (EMD) provides a powerful tool for adaptive multiscale analysis of nonstationary signals. Aiming at the intrinsic mode function (IMF) criteria in sifting process and the scale mixing problem in EMD, this paper proposes a bandwidth criterion for IMF.

A fast algorithm for bidimensional EMD
IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2005In this letter, we describe a new method for bidimensional empirical mode decomposition (EMD). This decomposition is based on Delaunay triangulation and on piecewise cubic polynomial interpolation. Particular attention is devoted to boundary conditions that are crucial for the feasibility of the bidimensional EMD.

Comparison of EMD, MEMD and 2T-EMD by analyzing standard artificial signals and EEG
2017 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN), 2017EEG (electroencephalography) can be analyzed quantitatively by introducing the EEG energy index in EEG preliminary examination of determination of brain death. EMD (empirical mode decomposition), MEMD (multivariate empirical mode decomposition), and 2T-EMD (turning tangent empirical mode decomposition) can be used to analyze coma and quasi-brain-death ...
