Direct Access to Chiral Piperidines by Enantioselective HAT‐Initiated C(sp3)─H Oxidation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The direct desymmetrization of piperidines is achieved through manganese‐catalyzed enantioselective α‐C(sp3)─H oxidation with hydrogen peroxide, affording versatile chiral N,O‐acetals in good yields and with high enantio‐ and diastereoselectivity. These intermediates provide access to diverse functionalized piperidines with retention of chirality ...

HeaTrace: A Parametric Design‐to‐Fabrication Workflow for Thermally Programmable Soft Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A programmable thermal actuation workflow enables soft robots to be designed and fabricated with embedded heaters that drive multiple responses. By combining performance‐driven heater design with multimaterial fabrication, the system supports thermally triggered shape change, stiffness tuning, and thermochromic visual response, as demonstrated through ...

Cobalt‐Catalyzed C─N Bond Formation via Metal‐Hydride Hydrogen Atom Transfer (MHAT)

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Cobalt‐catalyzed metal‐hydride hydrogen atom transfer (Co‐MHAT) converts simple alkenes into C─N bonds under mild, near‐neutral conditions. A shared Co─H‐initiated radical/organocobalt intermediate is channeled into radical trapping, radical‐polar crossover, or radical ligand transfer, unifying hydroamination, hydroazidation, hydroamidation, and remote

Study of sulfonated polyether ether ketone with pendant lithiated fluorinated sulfonic groups as ion conductive binder in lithium-ion batteries

open access: yes, 2014
In an attempt to reduce the Li+ concentration polarization and electrolyte depletion from the electrode porous space, sulfonated polyether ether ketone with pendant lithiated fluorinated sulfonic groups (SPEEK-FSA-Li) is prepared and attempted as ionic ...

Light‐Driven Control of Polar Order in Ferroelectric Nematic Liquid Crystals

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Light‐responsive ferroelectric nematics are achieved by molecularly matching azobenzene photo‐switches to the polar packing motif of DIO. This design yields intrinsically photo‐responsive ferroelectric nematic mesogens and optically addressable DIO blends, in which light reversibly modulates spontaneous polarization and switches between high‐ and low ...

Intramolecular Nickel‐Catalyzed Reductive Coupling: Enantioselective Synthesis of Tetrahydroisoquinolines and Related Heterocycles

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The successful extension of the nickel‐catalyzed asymmetric coupling of polarized 1,3‐dienes with aldehydes to an intramolecular setting opens an efficient new entry into hydroxylated N‐heterocyclic compounds, most notably valuable tetrahydroisoquinolines.
