Disseminated Emergomycosis in a Person with HIV Infection, Uganda
We describe emergomycosis in a patient in Uganda with HIV infection. We tested a formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded skin biopsy to identify Emergomyces pasteurianus or a closely related pathogen by sequencing broad-range fungal PCR amplicons.

Phylogeny, ecology and taxonomy of systemic pathogens and their relatives in Ajellomycetaceae (Onygenales): Blastomyces, Emergomyces, Emmonsia, Emmonsiellopsis [PDF]
The family Ajellomycetaceae (Onygenales) includes mammal-associated pathogens within the genera Blastomyces, Emmonsia, Histoplasma and Paracoccidioides, as well as the recently described genera, Emergomyces that causes disease in immunocompromised hosts, and Emmonsiellopsis, known only from soil.

Emerging Fungal Infections: New Patients, New Patterns, and New Pathogens
The landscape of clinical mycology is constantly changing. New therapies for malignant and autoimmune diseases have led to new risk factors for unusual mycoses. Invasive candidiasis is increasingly caused by non-albicans Candida spp., including C. auris,

In Vitro Antifungal Susceptibility of Yeast and Mold Phases of Isolates of Dimorphic Fungal Pathogen Emergomycesafricanus (Formerly Emmonsia sp.) from HIV-Infected South African Patients [PDF]
ABSTRACT Disseminated emmonsiosis is an important AIDS-related mycosis in South Africa that is caused by Emergomyces africanus , a newly described and renamed dimorphic fungal pathogen. In vitro antifungal susceptibility data can guide management.
