Electrocardiographic changes under emetine therapy
American Heart Journal, 1952Abstract An electrocardiographic study is presented on forty-five patients undergoing emetine therapy. The route of administration was intramuscular. The P wave and the ÂP did not reveal significant changes. The P-R interval was prolonged in only two cases.

To the Editor: —Those using emetin solutions should be very careful not to get any in the eyes. This accident is followed by a very severe reaction. There is no pain at first, but in about eight hours there is an uncomfortable, "scratchy" feeling, intense photophobia and lacrimation, with conjunctival and some circumcorneal injection.
