Membrane transference numbers from a new emf method
Journal of Membrane Science, 1992Abstract A new method for determination of the transference numbers of two ions in ion exchange membrances has been established. The method uses emf measurements in a cell with a membrane stack, and it avoids problems of concentration-polarization, diffusion and water transport. Stack thickness is about 10 mm.

Current-based EMF-assessment method for vehicles
2019 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility - EMC EUROPE, 2019The human exposure towards low-frequency magnetic fields is limited by several EMF-guidelines, recommendations and national directives. Within a vehicle, these magnetic fields are mainly caused by currents along the power lines of a vehicle. This paper presents a method in which magnetic field reference values from EMF-guidelines are returned to ...

An EMF activity tree based BPEL defect pattern testing method
2010 2nd International Conference on Computer Engineering and Technology, 2010For testing BPEL defects efficiently, a novel BPEL defect pattern testing architecture based on the EMF activity tree technology is proposed. The EMF activity tree that is similar to abstract syntax tree is used to describe the BPEL service process structure.

Thermodynamic stability of HfMo2O8 by the emf method
Journal of Nuclear Materials, 1990Abstract The emf of the galvanic cell, Pt, HfO2, MoO2, HfMo2O8 15wt% Y2O3 air (Po2 = 0.21 atm), Pt (I) stabilized ZrO2 has been measured over the range 982 to 1217 K to yield the least squares expression (E1 ± 2.05) (mV) = 873.29−0.29325T(K). From this expression, the standard Gibbs energy of formation ΔGf,oxo of HfMo2O8 from the constituent binary ...

Thermal EMF method for monitoring drilling tool wear
SPIE Proceedings, 1993This paper describes a techniQue for on-line monitoring of drilling tool wear based on the thermal EMF (electromotive force) signal. The EMF signal was obtained from a natural thermocouple consisting of the tool (H. S. S.) and workpiece (AISI 1045) metals.

The thermal EMF measurement methods for multichannel scanners
2017 12th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2017In the precision measurement system with a multichannel scanner, the thermal electromotive force (EMF) of the scanner should be considered properly. Two kinds of the thermal EMF measurement method are discussed in this paper, which correspond respectively to the systems based on the direct measuring instruments and the comparison measuring instruments.
