Detection of Microstructure Change in Glass by an Emf Method
Journal of the Ceramic Association, Japan, 1968加熱過程で分相, 結晶化などの微構造変化を起すガラス試験片と, かような変化をすでに完了して熱的に安定化された標準試験片とを密に接触させ, これに白金電極を組合せて構成した電池系が昇温過程で発生する起電力を測定した. この測定結果から得られた起電力-温度曲線を同じガラス試料に対する電子顕微鏡観察とX線分析結果と対照し, 起電力変化と微構造変化との対応性を検討した.その結果, 起電力-温度曲線に現われる変化によって分相および結晶化の核形成をも含んだ微構造変化の全過程の進行状態を読みとることのできることが明らかとなった.
