Accounting for spatiotemporally correlated errors in wind speed for remote surveys of methane emissions [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Measurement Techniques
Spatiotemporally correlated errors in wind speeds estimated via numerical weather prediction (NWP) models – where estimated wind speeds and associated uncertainties at similar times or at nearby sites are likely to be correlated – are an important, but ...

Evaluating the involvement of autolysosomes in the nuclear translocation of fluorescent proteins

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Endogenously expressed fluorescent proteins can be degraded by autophagy and transported to cell nuclei via the nuclear pore complex. But in some cell lines, for example, HeLa cells which are positive for immunoreactivity of a receptor ligand, such as UCN I, in cell nuclei, fusion of autolysosome with the nuclear envelope is involved in the nuclear ...

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

Analysis of Heating System Impacts on Battery Electric Vehicle Operation at Cold Temperatures

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal
This paper presents the results from in-lab chassis dynamometer testing of two battery electric vehicles of the same make and model: a 2022 model year vehicle with a heat pump and a 2020 model year vehicle with a resistive positive temperature ...

Air transport and the EU's emissions trading scheme. European Policy Paper #13, June 2009 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper examines the EU’s strategy for containing aircraft emissions as embodied in the new legislation on aviation emissions, as well as criticisms of this strategy and the political and technical problems it faces.

Clinical Spectrum and Outcomes of SOX1 Antibody‐Associated Paraneoplastic Neurological Syndromes: A Chinese Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background SOX1 antibody‐positive paraneoplastic neurological syndromes (PNS) exhibit significant population‐specific clinical heterogeneity. While Western cohorts predominantly manifest Lambert‐Eaton myasthenic syndrome (65%–80%), comprehensive clinical characterization and treatment response data in Asian populations remain critically ...

Modelling global annual N2O and NO emissions from fertilized fields

open access: yes, 2002
Information from 846 N2O emission measurements in agricultural fields and 99 measurements for NO emissions was used to describe the influence of various factors regulating emissions from mineral soils in models for calculating global N2O and NO emissions.

Clustering Algorithm Reveals Dopamine‐Motor Mismatch in Cognitively Preserved Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore the relationship between dopaminergic denervation and motor impairment in two de novo Parkinson's disease (PD) cohorts. Methods n = 249 PD patients from Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) and n = 84 from an external clinical cohort.

A review of methane emissions source types, characteristics, rates, and mitigation effectiveness across U.S. and Canadian cities

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters
Cities are major aggregated sources of methane (CH _4 ) emissions and can therefore play a role in mitigating climate warming. However, diverse, spatially distributed sources make characterizing urban CH _4 emissions challenging.
