Lessons Learned From a Delayed‐Start Trial of Modafinil for Freezing of Gait in Parkinson's Disease

ABSTRACT Objective Freezing of gait (FOG) in people with Parkinson's disease (PwPD) is debilitating and has limited treatments. Modafinil modulates beta/gamma band activity in the pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN), like PPN deep brain stimulation. We therefore tested the hypothesis that Modafinil would improve FOG in PwPD.

Task demand modulates the effects of reward learning on emotional stimuli

The current study used event-related potentials (ERPs) to examine the ability of task demand in modulating the effect of reward association on the processing of emotional faces. In the learning phase, a high or low reward probability was paired with male or female facial photos of angry, happy, or neutral expressions.
