Flat-Band Ferromagnetism as a Pauli-Correlated Percolation Problem

open access: yes, 2012
We investigate the location and nature of the para-ferro transition of interacting electrons in dispersionless bands using the example of the Hubbard model on the Tasaki lattice.

Skin‐Interfaced Therapeutic Patches for Wound Fluid Management and Transdermal Drug Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents an integrated skin‐interfaced device combining microfluidics, hydrogel film technology, flexible electronics, and iontophoresis‐based transdermal delivery of PDRN to enhance wound healing. The device effectively manages wound fluid, maintains optimal moisture, and non‐invasively delivers therapeutic drugs.

Allometric study of lamb carcass cuts from crosses between Dorper and the local breeds Rabo Largo and Santa Inês Estudo alométrico dos cortes da carcaça de cordeiros cruzados Dorper com as raças Rabo Largo e Santa Inês

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Saúde e Produção Animal, 2009
The goal of the present work was to evaluate the differential growth of carcass cuts (shoulder, leg, rack, rib/flanks and loin) of F1 Dorper x Rabo Largo and Dorper x Santa Inês lambs in relation to cooled carcass weight and empty body weight.

The effect of environment on post surgical overall well-being and pain sensitivity in an animal model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
With chronic post surgical pain affecting up to one third of patients undergoing surgeries and the price of treatment being astoundingly high there has been a transition in research to investigate and identify risk factors. Through identification of risk

Engineered ETS1‐Nanoconjugate Restores Immune Homeostasis through Dual Immune‐Vascular Modulation in Relapsing and Progressive Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The biomimetic nanoplatform IMNP (ETS1 pDNA/PBAE@ITP‐MM) undergoes targeted disassembly at inflammatory vascular sites to release the ETS1 plasmid (pETS1). This release initiates a cascade of effects that inhibit pathogenic pathways and support immune homeostasis. (Abbreviations: EndMT, endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition; EC, endothelial cell; TC, T

Effects of handling, discrete meals and body weight on the individual variation of gastric emptying parameters

open access: yesAquaculture Research, 1998
Individual feeding and gastric emptying was estimated for two salmonid species, brown trout (bt), Salmo trutta (L.), and rainbow trout (rt), Oncorhynchus mykiss (Walbaum), fed extruded feed with glass beads, and exposed to repetitive handling, anaesthetizing and X-raying.

From RNA to DNA: How Cargo Identity Reprograms Lipid Nanoparticle Architecture and Function

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The evolution of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) spans from RNA‐LNPs, used in mRNA vaccines, to DNA‐LNPs, ideal for gene therapies. Emerging bionano architectures, decorated with DNA and plasma proteins, pave the way for advanced DNA‐based therapies that are more stable, targeted, and customizable.
