Real-time gap-free dynamic waveform spectral analysis with nanosecond resolutions through analog signal processing

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
Real-time dynamic Fourier analysis of high-speed signals is difficult using either digital or analog schemes. Here, the authors present a universal analog approach that can track the changing frequency spectrum of waveforms in a real-time fashion at the ...

Distinguishing Mechanisms Underlying EMT Tristability [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Background: The Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition (EMT) endows epithelial-looking cells with enhanced migratory ability during embryonic development and tissue repair. EMT can also be co-opted by cancer cells to acquire metastatic potential and drug-resistance.

Working as an EMT [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The work of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) is often the difference between life and death for a patient. EMTs respond to various medical emergencies including car accidents, heart attacks, slips and falls of the elderly, childbirth, and gunshot ...

The effect of 2D and 3D cell cultures on treatment response, EMT profile and stem cell features in head and neck cancer

open access: yesCancer Cell International, 2019
BackgroundHead and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSCC) tumors are often resistant to therapies. Therefore searching for predictive markers and new targets for treatment in clinically relevant in vitro tumor models is essential.

EMT‐associated bias in the Parsortix® system observed with pancreatic cancer cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The Parsortix® system was tested for CTC enrichment using pancreatic cancer cell lines with different EMT phenotypes. Spike‐in experiments showed lower recovery of mesenchymal‐like cells. This was confirmed with an EMT‐inducible breast cancer cell line.

Uptake of BIM and IPD within the UK AEC Industry: the evolving role of the architectural technologist [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Building Information Modelling is not only a tool, but also the process of creation, maintenance, distribution and co-ordination of an integrated database that collaboratively stores 2D and 3D information, with embedded physical and functional data ...

miR-195-5p/NOTCH2-mediated EMT modulates IL-4 secretion in colorectal cancer to affect M2-like TAM polarization

open access: yesJournal of Hematology & Oncology, 2019
BackgroundTumor microenvironment (TME) is a complex environment containing tumor cells, tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), interstitial cells, and non-cellular components.

Evaluation and modification of tumor cell isolation techniques from malignant effusions for rapid drug sensitivity testing

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Non‐small cell lung cancer targeted treatment is limited to a few known genetic alterations, with few alternatives in advanced treatment lines. To direct treatment decisions by drug sensitivity testing (DST), this study compared several methods for tumor cell isolation from malignant effusions, pointing to repeated CD45+ cell depletion for effective ...

An Open Framework Enabling Electromagnetic Tracking in Image-Guided Interventions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Electromagnetic tracking (EMT) is a core platform technology in the navigation and visualisation of image-guided procedures. The technology provides high tracking accuracy in non-line-of-sight environments, allowing instrument navigation in locations where optical tracking is not feasible.
