ABSTRACT Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is characterized by dysregulated T cell responses. RNA helicases, including DExD‐box helicase 21 (DDX21), are pivotal in RNA metabolism, but their role in T cell‐mediated pathology during IBD remains unclear. Here, we demonstrate that DDX21 expression in CD4+ T cells correlates with cell cycle and translation ...

Emulsions stabilized by phospholipids
Phospholipids are amphiphilic molecules able to adsorb at oil/water interfaces and thus used to stabilize parenteral emulsions. Yet, their low preferred curvature, which sensitively depends on molecular structures and interactions, favors the formation of lamellar phases and sets constraints on the system formulation.

Ultrasound‐Actuated Gene Editing in Human Kidney Organoids
Peptide‐stabilized nanoemulsions enable spatially controlled, ultrasound‐triggered delivery of gene‐editing proteins deep within human kidney organoid tissues. Focused acoustic pulses drive droplet vaporization, propelling cargo into target renal cells while preserving native tissue microarchitecture. This non‐viral platform improves both the depth and

Milk Fat Composition Affects Mechanical and Rheological Properties of Processed Cheese
Laboratory-scale experiments were carried out to explore the influence of the composition of the fat phase on mechanical and rheological properties of processed model cheeses. Cheeses made from caseinates, emulsifying salts and a milk fat fraction liquid

In rheumatoid arthritis, synovial Tregs accumulate but are functionally impaired due to iron overload‐induced ferroptosis. This triggers mitochondrial dysfunction and TXK tyrosine kinase‐mediated signaling, leading to Treg destabilization and inflammation.

Rheology and Microstructure of Shear Thickening Fluid Suspoemulsions
A novel shear thickening suspoemulsion is formulated and studied with a new rheo-microscope instrument. The experimental fluid system is comprised of a immiscible blend of Newtonian, low molecular weight poly(dimethylsiloxane) and a shear thickening ...

Stability Proxies for Water-in-Oil Emulsions and Implications in Aqueous-based Enhanced Oil Recovery
Several researchers have proposed that mobility control mechanisms can positively contribute to oil recovery in the case of emulsions generated in Enhanced-Oil Recovery (EOR) operations.

The use of ultrasonics for characterising fats and emulsions [PDF]
Ultrasonics has not found widespread use in the food industry, despite having considerable potential for characterising food materials. This is due to the complexity and diversity of food materials, the lack of suitable instrumentation and a poor ...
