Studies of hexahelicene bonded phases for the HPLC resolution of enantiomers [PDF]
The thesis presents a review of the literature on the HPLC resolution of enantiomers using chiral stationary phases and discusses the mechanisms of separation and the utility of these phases.

Catalytic Enantioselective Intramolecular Aza‐Michael Addition to α,β‐Unsaturated Esters
A general method for accessing enantioenriched saturated N‐heterocycles via a catalytic enantioselective intramolecular aza‐Michael reaction to α,β‐unsaturated esters is described. A superbasic bifunctional iminophosphorane (BIMP) catalyst was key to enabling reactivity of the high pKa sulfonamide pronucleophile, whilst delivering good to excellent ...

Stochastic Detection of Enantiomers
The rapid quantification of the enantiomers of small chiral molecules is very important, notably in pharmacology. Here, we show that the enantiomers of drug molecules can be distinguished by stochastic sensing, a single-molecule detection technique.

Cyclopentadienes (CpHs) are fundamental building blocks with widespread applications in chemistry. However, their inherent acidity and isomeric instability have long limited access to chiral variants in an asymmetric fashion. Here, we introduce a CuH‐catalyzed asymmetric transformation that provides an unprecedented entry into a new class of ...

A Review of Use of Enantiomers in Homeopathy [PDF]
This paper reviews publications of laboratory experiments using pairs of enantiomers in homeopathy. Many molecules in nature have geometry which enables them to exist as nonsuperimposable mirror images or enantiomers. Modulation of toxicity of such molecules provides possibility for therapeutics, since they target multiple points in biochemical ...

Reduced Symmetry Metal–Organic Cage‐to‐Framework Materials
A series of Ag(I) MOFs was synthesised from organic cages of varying structure and symmetry as linkers. Minor variations in the cage linkers were shown to significantly influence the structures of the resulting MOFs. This work represents the first incorporation of reduced symmetry (including chiral), intrinsically porous building blocks into MOFs, and ...

Antitumor Activity of Quinazolinone Alkaloids Inspired by Marine Natural Products
Many fungal quinazolinone metabolites, which contain the methyl-indole pyrazino [1,2-b]quinazoline-3,6-dione core, have been found to possess promising antitumor activity.

Crystallization of enantiomers
Pure enantiomers are of large interest for several industries. Chemical synthesis is frequently not selective and provides racemic mixtures causing a large interest in efficient separation processes.
