Failure analysis and prediction of roof instability in end face under repeated mining using early warning system

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
The overlying strata of the lower coal seam is easy to be collapsed causing the roof caving accident at the end face of the mining working face under repeated mining in close-distance coal seams.

In-Season Quantification and Relationship of External and Internal Intensity, Sleep Quality, and Psychological or Physical Stressors of Semi-Professional Soccer Players

open access: yesBiology, 2022
The purpose of this study was two-fold: (a) to describe and analyse the relationship of the in-season variations of external and internal intensity metrics as well as well-being measures across different periods of a semi-professional soccer season ...

Optimal Hidden Node Area for Enhancing Routing Protocol Performance in IEEE 802.11 Multihop MANETs

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2011
The prevalence of hidden node areas in IEEE 802.11 multihop MANETs continues to hinder the performance of routing protocols. This letter presents an analytical model that relates the hidden node area to the hop distance between two communicating nodes ...

mRNAs and lncRNAs intrinsically form secondary structures with short end-to-end distances [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Abstract The 5′ and 3′ termini of RNA play important roles in many cellular processes. Using Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET), we show that mRNAs and lncRNAs have an intrinsic propensity to fold in the absence of proteins into structures in which the 5′ end and 3′ end are ≤7 nm apart irrespective of mRNA length.

End-to-end distance and contour length distribution functions of DNA helices [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2018
I present a computational method to evaluate the end-to-end and the contour length distribution functions of short DNA molecules described by a mesoscopic Hamiltonian. The method generates a large statistical ensemble of possible configurations for each dimer in the sequence, selects the global equilibrium twist conformation for the molecule, and ...

An end-to-end smart IoT-Driven navigation for social distance monitoring framework for Covid-19 using deep convolutional neural networks in Deep Learning

open access: yesMeasurement: Sensors
The extraordinary worldwide spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has considerably boosted the development of new Internet-of-things (IoT)-based strategies to stop, stop, monitor, or foresee virus propagation among people.

All-photonic Gottesman-Kitaev-Preskill–qubit repeater using analog-information-assisted multiplexed entanglement ranking

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2023
Long-distance quantum communication will require the use of quantum repeaters to overcome the exponential attenuation of signal with distance. One class of such repeaters utilizes quantum error correction to overcome losses in the communication channel ...

Kinetics of Contact Formation and End-to-End Distance Distributions of Swollen Disordered Peptides [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 2009
Unstructured polypeptide chains are subject to various degrees of swelling or compaction depending on the combination of solvent condition and amino acid sequence. Highly denatured proteins generally behave like random-coils with excluded volume repulsion, whereas in aqueous buffer more compact conformations have been observed for the low-populated ...
