Indumento y tricomas en la caracterización de un grupo de nueve especies del género Mortoniodendron (Tiliaceae) Indument and trichomes in the characterization of a group of nine species of Mortoniodendron (Tiliaceae)

Scent‐mediated bee pollination and myrmecochory in an enigmatic geophyte with pyrogenic flowering and subterranean development of fleshy fruits

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, Volume 111, Issue 11, November 2024.
Abstract Premise Volatile emissions from flowers and fruits play a key role in signalling to animals responsible for pollination and seed dispersal. Here, we investigated the pollination biology and chemical ecology of reproduction in Apodolirion buchananii, an African amaryllid that flowers in a leafless state soon after grassland vegetation is burnt ...

Amphicarpic development in Cardamine chenopodiifolia

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 244, Issue 3, Page 1041-1056, November 2024.
Summary Amphicarpy is an unusual trait where two fruit types develop on the same plant: one above and the other belowground. This trait is not found in conventional model species. Therefore, its development and molecular genetics remain under‐studied. Here, we establish the allooctoploid Cardamine chenopodiifolia as an emerging experimental system to ...

Linking the key physiological functions of essential micronutrients to their deficiency symptoms in plants

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 242, Issue 3, Page 881-902, May 2024.
Summary In this review, we untangle the physiological key functions of the essential micronutrients and link them to the deficiency responses in plants. Knowledge of these responses at the mechanistic level, and the resulting deficiency symptoms, have improved over the last decade and it appears timely to review recent insights for each of them.

Ex situ germplasm collections of exceptional species are a vital part of the conservation of Australia's national plant treasures

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, Volume 6, Issue 1, Page 44-66, January 2024.
Conservation seed banks maintain collections of many seed‐bearing plant species, providing germplasm and data to support management of wild populations. However, a proportion of plant species produce seeds that are difficult to collect, dry, store and utilise; these are known as ‘exceptional’ species.

CARBON ACTIVADO A BASE DE ENDOCARPO DE COCO

open access: yes, 2019
