Features of Remodeling of the Adrenal Glands Under the Influence of Endo- and Exopathogenic Factors

open access: yesArchive of Clinical Medicine
One of the main links of the body's adaptation system, sensitive to the action of various types of exo- and endogenous factors, is the adrenal glands. The body's response to acute stress is mediated by the effects of the sympatho-adrenal system, while ...

Midgut of Lepidopteran pupae is a major depot of sequestered, mobilizable, ecdysteroids

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 1987
Extirpation of endocrine organs - a classic maneuver in hormonal research - has been difficult or impossible in the case of the prothoracic glands (PG) of insects.

Malectin Alleviates Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress in Gestational Diabetes Mellitus via Glycoprotein Quality Control Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Malectin alleviates high glucose‐induced ER stress and damage in placental trophoblasts, a function dependent on its six critical carbohydrate‐binding residues. In a GDM mouse model, administration of TAT‐Malectin ameliorated hyperglycemia and placental ER stress and prevented fetal macrosomia.

ENDOCRINE GLANDS (THYROID, PITUITARY, ADRENAL GLANDS): HISTOLOGICAL ANALYSIS [PDF]

open access: yes
This article analyzes the histological structure, cell types, functions, and interactions of endocrine glands – the thyroid gland, pituitary gland, and adrenal glands – which perform essential roles in the human body. Histological analysis allows for the

SURVEYING ARTIFICIAL GLANDS IN ENDOCRINE NEURAL NETWORKS APPLIED IN CONTROL SYSTEMS [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, an effort would be made to provide a review of current state of the development of artificial glands within endocrine neural networks. The main goal is to systematize the approaches of building the glands, to offer mathematical apparatus ...

Electroacupuncture Improves the Learning and Memory by Modulating Hippocampal Glucose Metabolism through IGF1/IGF1R Signaling in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electroacupuncture (EA) ameliorates learning and memory function in 5×FAD mice by regulating the brain glucose metabolic network. This neuroprotective effect is closely related to enhancing neuronal energy utilization via the IGF1/IGF1R signaling pathway.

A Study of the Endocrine Glands and Their Implications for Education, with Special Emphasis on Industrial Arts [PDF]

open access: yes, 1953
This is a study of the endocrine glands and their influence on the physical characteristics and behavior patterns of adolescents. The purpose of this study is not to present new ideas about the effects of the endocrine glands upon man, but to gather and ...

Adipocyte‐Derived Leptolin Enhances Energy Expenditure and Prevents Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identified a novel adipokine, which we named leptolin. In humans, leptolin levels in white adipose tissue were positively correlated with exercise and negatively associated with body mass index. We observed elevated leptolin in serum from athletes and lower leptolin in serum from obese individuals.
