High-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma presenting in a 28-year-old woman during pregnancy: a case report [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
To the best of our knowledge, soft tissue sarcomas have not prevously been reported as a complication during pregnancy. A 28-year-old Caucasian woman was diagnosed with a transperitoneal sarcoma during pregnancy.

Unraveling the Molecular Mechanisms of Glioma Recurrence: A Study Integrating Single‐Cell and Spatial Transcriptomics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Glioma recurrence severely impacts patient prognosis, with current treatments showing limited efficacy. Traditional methods struggle to analyze recurrence mechanisms due to challenges in assessing tumor heterogeneity, spatial dynamics, and gene networks.

Response of xenografts of developing human female reproductive tracts to the synthetic estrogen, diethylstilbestrol. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Human female fetal reproductive tracts 9.5-22 weeks of gestation were grown for 1 month in ovariectomized athymic adult female mouse hosts that were either untreated or treated continuously with diethylstilbestrol (DES) via subcutaneous pellet.

Engineered Microfluidic Organoid Systems: New Paradigms for Menopause Mechanism Research and Personalized Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review explores the integration of microfluidic technology with organoid systems as an innovative platform for studying menopausea complex multi‐organ condition. By enabling precise simulation of inter‐organ communication and hormone responses, microfluidic organoids offer a physiologically relevant model for investigating menopausal syndrome and ...

Fusion genes in gynecologic tumors: the occurrence, molecular mechanism and prospect for therapy

open access: yesCell Death and Disease, 2021
Gene fusions are thought to be driver mutations in multiple cancers and are an important factor for poor patient prognosis. Most of them appear in specific cancers, thus satisfactory strategies can be developed for the precise treatment of these types of

A Biomarker‐Driven Ovary–Endometrium Organ‐on‐a‐Chip Mimicking 3D Multicellular Complexity and Menstrual Cyclicity for Predicting Reproductive Toxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a dual‐organ, biomarker‐integrated ovaryendometrium organ‐on‐a‐chip that recapitulates 3D tissue complexity, menstrual cycle dynamics, and hormonal crosstalk. This platform enables real‐time, cell‐typespecific fluorescent readouts of reproductive toxicity using ANGPTL4 and SERPINB2 as early‐response reporters.

Deletion of Arid1a in Reproductive Tract Mesenchymal Cells Reduces Fertility in Female Mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Women with endometriosis can suffer from decreased fecundity or complete infertility via abnormal oocyte function or impaired placental-uterine interactions required for normal pregnancy establishment and maintenance.

Practical issues related to uterine pathology: endometrial stromal tumors [PDF]

open access: yesModern Pathology, 2016
Uterine mesenchymal tumors continue to be a challenge to diagnose due to their non-specific clinical presentation, often non-distinctive gross appearance, varied (and many times overlapping) morphologic appearance, and unsuspected pitfalls in immunohistochemical expression.

Targeting Lactate and Lactylation in Cancer Metabolism and Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactate, once deemed a metabolic waste, emerges as a central regulator of cancer progression. This review elucidates how lactate and its epigenetic derivative, protein lactylation, orchestrate tumor metabolism, immune suppression, and therapeutic resistance.
