Endothelin increases the proliferation of rat olfactory mucosa cells
The olfactory mucosa holds olfactory sensory neurons directly in contact with an aggressive environment. In order to maintain its integrity, it is one of the few neural zones which are continuously renewed during the whole animal life.

Endothelins and liver cirrhosis
Endothelins are a family of 21‐amino acid oligopeptides, called endothelin‐1 (ET‐1), endothelin‐2 (ET‐2), and endothelin 3 (ET‐3). Endothelins act on hepatocytes, liver endothelial cells, and Kupffer cells in a paracrine or autocrine manner through two G

Endothelin and the Cardiovascular System: The Long Journey and Where We Are Going
Endothelin was first discovered more than 30 years ago as a potent vasoconstrictor. In subsequent years, three isoforms, two canonical receptors, and two converting enzymes were identified, and their basic functions were elucidated by numerous ...

Overexpression of endothelin B receptor in glioblastoma: a prognostic marker and therapeutic target?
Background Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common malignant brain tumor with median survival of 12-15 months. Owing to uncertainty in clinical outcome, additional prognostic marker(s) apart from existing markers are needed.

Endothelin Receptors and Their Antagonists
All three members of the endothelin (ET) family of peptides, ET-1, ET-2, and ET-3, are expressed in the human kidney, with ET-1 being the predominant isoform. ET-1 and ET-2 bind to two G-protein-coupled receptors, ETA and ETB, whereas at physiological concentrations ET-3 has little affinity for the ET(A) receptor.

Portopulmonary hypertension practice patterns after liver transplantation
Abstract Portopulmonary hypertension (POPH) is a type of pulmonary arterial hypertension occurring exclusively in those with portal hypertensive liver disease. Liver transplantation (LT) can significantly improve outcomes. Current guidelines counsel against immediate adjustments to targeted therapy after LT and suggest routine echocardiography as ...
