Research progress on the synthesis of energetic N-oxides based on diazine, triazine and tetrazine
The skeleton structures of azine (including diazine, triazine and tetrazine) are widely used as important candidate for building good performance energetic materials due to their uniform electron distribution, planar aromaticity, multi reactive sites and

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Sensitive Energetics from the N‐Amination of 4‐Nitro‐1,2,3‐Triazole
Energetic N‐amino‐C‐nitro compounds 1‐amino‐4‐nitro‐1,2,3‐triazole and 2‐amino‐4‐nitro‐1,2,3‐triazole are characterized for the first time as energetic materials. These compounds were characterized chemically by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Infrared

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Energetics of hydrogen bonding in proteins: A model compound study [PDF]
AbstractDifferences in the energetics of amide‐amide and amide‐hydroxyl hydrogen bonds in proteins have been explored from the effect of hydroxyl groups on the structure and dissolution energetics of a series of crystalline cyclic dipeptides. The calorimetrically determined energetics are interpreted in light of the crystal structures of the studied ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

A comparative study of bridged 1,2,4-oxazolones and their derivatives
For energetic compounds, a slight difference in their molecular structures can result in a tremendous difference in their properties. Compounds with similar structures but exhibiting big difference in their physicochemical properties (such as density and
