Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Alumina: Effects of Scanning Strategies on External and Internal Defects
This study investigates how scanning strategies affect pure alumina in laser powder bed fusion. Linear 45° scanning yields uniform surfaces but high porosity, while the island‐concentric strategy provides higher density with through‐holes favorable for infiltration. Findings highlight pathways toward optimizing defect‐free alumina parts.

Powder metal processing provides scalable advantages in nanoporous (np) metal development. Mechanical alloying is used to produce unique precursors for hybrid nanopore formation by oxide reduction and dealloying. As demonstrated in np Ag, this approach improves process efficiency while promoting smaller ligaments and larger pores, both of which are ...

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

Heliospheric Observations of Energetic Particles
Heliospheric observations of energetic particles have shown that, on long time averages, a consistent v^-5 power-law index arises even in the absence of transient events.

The corrosion performance of AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg alloys produced through selective laser melting (SLM) was examined under compressive stress in a chloride environment. Electrochemical analyses, including open‐circuit potential (OCP), potentiodynamic polarization (CPP), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), were complemented by scanning ...

Solar Energetic Particles and Galactic Cosmic Rays
Ionizing radiation is harmful to biological organisms and technological systems. In space, this radiation can have both solar and galactic origins. Solar energetic particles (SEPs) include protons, electrons, and HZE ions.

This study explored how effective nickel aluminide coatings are obtained in providing oxidation resistance applied to the Inconel 738 alloy, modeling with diffusion models. In the present study, kinetics and thermal behavior of the Inconel 738 alloy were studied by the low‐temperature thermoreactive aluminizing process, which was carried out at 625°C ...
