INTEGRAL IBIS/ISGRI energy calibration in OSA 10

open access: yes, 2013
We present the new energy calibration of the ISGRI detector onboard INTEGRAL, that has been implemented in the Offline Scientific Analysis (OSA) version 10.

Dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) regulates trophoblast syncytialization through organelle stress–induced cellular senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The inhibition of mitochondrial dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) impairs syncytialization and induces cellular senescence via mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum stress in human trophoblast stem cells, elevating sFlt1/PlGF levels, a hallmark of placental dysfunction in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

Method for Determining Iodine Activity Distribution in Activated Carbon Filter Cartridge Source

open access: yesJournal of Isotopes, 2021
I-131 is an important artificial radionuclide and an important detection object in nuclear facilities. The current mainstream method is to use a uniformly distributed Ba-133 source instead of an iodine source to calibrate the I-131 detection instrument ...

Calibration of the GLAST Burst Monitor detectors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The GLAST Burst Monitor (GBM) will augment the capabilities of GLAST for the detection of cosmic gamma-ray bursts by extending the energy range (20 MeV to > 300 GeV) of the Large Area Telescope (LAT) towards lower energies by 2 BGO-detectors (150 keV to ...

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Space temperature traceability based on near-site transfer of miniature fixed points

open access: yesCommunications Engineering
Long-term remote sensing precision depends on real-time radiation calibration, challenging the stability and accuracy of spaceborne calibrators in harsh space environments.

Simultaneously non-linear energy calibration of CMS calorimeters for single pions and electrons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
CMS calorimeter energy calibration was done in the full CMS simulated geometry for the pseudorapidity region eta = 0. The samples of single pion events were generated with a set of incident energies from 5 GeV to 3 TeV and for single electrons from 5 to ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Study on silicon drift detector efficiency using Monte–Carlo simulation and experimental methods

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
The energy calibration and efficiency calibration of one silicon drift detector (SDD) are introduced here. The energy calibration is achieved using four radioactive sources, and the linear correlation coefficient is close to one.

An ion beam system for calibration of space low-energy ion detectors

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2023
Low-energy ion detection in space is one of the most important interests of space exploration. An accurate calibration of this type of instrument is necessary to ensure the effectiveness and scientificness of the obtained data.
