Weight Management, Energy Metabolism, and Endocrine Hor¬mones- Review Article

open access: yesIranian Journal of Public Health, 2015
Energy expenditure is determined by basal metabolic rate, physical activity, and Thermic Effect of Foods (TEF). Some endocrine hormones have role in basal metabolism and hence in human energy expenditure.

Determination of Energy Expenditure

open access: yesDeckerMed Medicine, 2018
Nutrition interventions are often designed to influence energy balance, ultimately optimizing the health of individuals or groups. Goals include weight loss in obese and overweight individuals or weight gain in growing children, pregnant women, and the underweight. In some cases, weight maintenance is the intention for healthy weight adults or children

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Integration of Perovskite/Low‐Dimensional Material Heterostructures for Optoelectronics and Artificial Visual Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Heterojunctions combining halide perovskites with low‐dimensional materials enhance optoelectronic devices by enabling precise charge control and improving efficiency, stability, and speed. These synergies advance flexible electronics, wearable sensors, and neuromorphic computing, mimicking biological vision for real‐time image analysis and intelligent

Comparative analysis of the energy expenditure in walking and the running in young men [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Walking below 6 km/h and running above 8 km/h are efficient effort intensities to maintain the economy of energy expenditure in the mechanical work. However, in the intermediate range (between the transition of the walking to running), the mechanical ...
