Response of finger circulation to energy equivalent combinations of magnitude and duration of vibration [PDF]
OBJECTIVESTo investigate the acute response of finger circulation to vibration with different combinations of magnitude and duration but with the same “energy equivalent” acceleration magnitude according to current standards for hand transmitted vibration.METHODSFinger skin temperature (FST) and finger blood flow (FBF) were measured in the middle ...

Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Earthquake breakdown energy scaling despite constant fracture energy
Earthquake breakdown energy is commonly interpreted as a proxy for fracture energy but is observed to scale with magnitude. Here the authors show that a scale-independent stress overshoot, as seen in the 3D dynamic earthquake rupture simulations, leads ...

Definition, implementation and validation of energy code smells: an exploratory study on an embedded system [PDF]
Optimizing software in terms of energy efficiency is one of the challenges that both research and industry will have to face in the next few years. We consider energy efficiency as a software product quality characteristic, to be improved through the ...

An Energy Efficient Binary Magnitude Comparator for Nanotechnology Applications
Quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) is inventive nanotechnology that suggest lesser size, lesser power consumption, with more rapid speeds and deliberated as a clarification to the scaling difficulties with CMOS technology. Physical bounds of CMOS for instance the effects of quantum and the limits of technologies like power dissipation obstruct the ...

ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

NMR metabolomics revealed concentration‐dependent metabolic perturbations in HepG2 cells exposed to H2O2. Rifampicin pretreatment enhanced metabolic competence, attenuated toxin‐induced alterations and produced metabolite profiles more consistent with human liver physiology, supporting the use of CYP450‐induced HepG2 models for improved in vitro ...
