The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Axial Compression Damage Model and Damage Evolution of Crumb Rubber Concrete Based on the Energy Method

open access: yesBuildings
The current constitutive model and damage evolution law of crumb rubber concrete (CRC) were obtained by fitting and changing parameters based on the normal concrete model.

IDENTIFICATION METHOD FOR PENDULUM SYSTEM MOMENT OF INERTIA WITH VISCOUS DAMPING [PDF]

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник информационных технологий, механики и оптики, 2016
The paper proposes a method for identification of axial moment of inertia of the mechanical system called reaction wheel pendulum with a viscous friction in the bearings of the suspension. The method is based on the reversible symmetric motions. Pendulum

Efficient iterative method for solving the Dirac-Kohn-Sham density functional theory

open access: yes, 2013
We present for the first time an efficient iterative method to directly solve the four-component Dirac-Kohn-Sham (DKS) density functional theory. Due to the existence of the negative energy continuum in the DKS operator, the existing iterative techniques

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Direct Calculation of Thermodynamic Quantities for Heisenberg Model

open access: yes, 2002
The XXX Heisenberg model is studied at finite temperature. The free energy is derived without recourse to Thermal Bethe Ansatz method and Quantum Transfer Matrix method.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Failure mechanism of tip-to-face roof based on energy method and experimental investigation of support-strata interaction

open access: yesMeitan kexue jishu
In order to study the stability and influencing factors of the end face roof of the full-mechanized mining face, a mechanical model of tip-to-face roof stability was developed in this study with a combination of the energy method and the “roof-support ...

Global existence of solutions to some semilinear integro-differential evolution equations with sign-varying kernels

open access: yesNonautonomous Dynamical Systems, 2020
In this paper, we study the global existence of solutions to some semilinear integro-differential evolution equations in Hilbert spaces with sign-varying kernels.

The Stochastic State Selection Method Combined with the Lanczos Approach to Eigenvalues in Quantum Spin Systems

open access: yes, 2005
We describe a further development of the stochastic state selection method, a new Monte Carlo method we have proposed recently to make numerical calculations in large quantum spin systems.
