Energy Implications of Product Leasing

Environmental Science & Technology, 2010

Production and Utilization of Energy in Athletes

Orthopedic Clinics of North America, 1983
The immediate energy source for muscular contraction is ATP, which may be regenerated from the phosphagen system, anaerobic metabolism, or aerobic metabolism. An understanding of energy production and how it relates to athletes is necessary in the construction of effective rehabilitation and training programs.

Food Production and the Energy Crisis

Science, 1973
The principal raw material of modern U.S. agriculture is fossil fuel, whereas the labor input is relatively small (about 9 hours per crop acre). As agriculture is dependent upon fossil energy, crop production costs will also soar when fuel costs increase two- to fivefold. A return of 2.8 kcal of corn per 1 kcal of fuel input may then be uneconomical.

Energy productivity

Energy productivity, denoted as economic output per energy unit, is vital for assessing energy efficiency and harmonizing economic expansion with environmental sustainability. Originating in the 1970s' energy crises, this concept emphasizes the optimization of energy value, moving away from simple consumption reduction to achieve sustainable economic ...
