Functional variation among LPMOs revealed by the inhibitory effects of cyanide and buffer ions
This study addresses the inhibition of lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases (LPMOs) by cyanide and explains how and why the magnitude of observed inhibitory effects depends on the way LPMO reactions are setup and on the type of LPMO. Enzymes known as lytic polysaccharide monooxygenases (LPMOs) are mono‐copper polysaccharide‐degrading peroxygenases that ...

Restoring Original Signal From Pile-up Signal using Deep Learning [PDF]
Pile-up signals are frequently produced in experimental physics. They create inaccurate physics data with high uncertainty and cause various problems. Therefore, the correction to pile-up signals is crucially required. In this study, we implemented a deep learning method to restore the original signals from the pile-up signals.

Improved EEG Event Classification Using Differential Energy [PDF]
Feature extraction for automatic classification of EEG signals typically relies on time frequency representations of the signal. Techniques such as cepstral-based filter banks or wavelets are popular analysis techniques in many signal processing applications including EEG classification. In this paper, we present a comparison of a variety of approaches

We present the first solution structure of the Ca2+‐depleted LETM1 F‐EF‐hand through a D676A/N678A Ca2+ binding‐deficient mutant, revealing a closed hydrophobic cleft caused by a unique F1‐helix pivot. The apo LETM1 F‐EF‐hand exhibits regiospecific hot and cold unfolding, sensitivity to physiological pH changes and potential for promiscuous heterotypic

Making tau amyloid models in vitro: a crucial and underestimated challenge
This review highlights the challenges of producing in vitro amyloid assemblies of the tau protein. We review how accurately the existing protocols mimic tau deposits found in the brain of patients affected with tauopathies. We discuss the important properties that should be considered when forming amyloids and the benchmarks that should be used to ...

α2 → 8 polysialic acid elicits poor immunogenicity. Small‐angle scattering shows a supramolecular structure with parallel‐chain binding, although in different forms at μm and mm calcium. The major histocompatibility complex requires molecular weights around 2000 Da to produce antibodies, and 2000 Da polysialic oligomers will bind in these structures ...

Abstract Positron emission tomography with x‐ray computed tomography (PET/CT) is increasingly being utilized for radiation treatment planning (RTP). Accurate delivery of RT therefore depends on quality PET/CT data. This study covers quality control (QC) procedures required for PET/CT for diagnostic imaging and incremental QC required for RTP.

eSampling: Rethinking Sampling with Energy Harvesting [PDF]
In general, real world signals are analog in nature. To capture these signals for further processing, or transmission, signals are converted into digital bits using analog-to-digital converter (ADC). In this conversion, a good amount of signal energy is wasted because signal that is captured within the sampling duration is utilized, while rest of the ...

Irregularity-Aware Graph Fourier Transforms [PDF]
In this paper, we present a novel generalization of the graph Fourier transform (GFT). Our approach is based on separately considering the definitions of signal energy and signal variation, leading to several possible orthonormal GFTs. Our approach includes traditional definitions of the GFT as special cases, while also leading to new GFT designs that ...
