Versatile vector tools for efficient protein screening across multiple expression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A unified vector toolkit enables rapid protein expression screening across E. coli, insect, and mammalian cells. A single primer pair amplifies the target gene, which is inserted into any vector via a standardized interface. This streamlined workflow eliminates repeated cloning steps, accelerating the identification of optimal expression conditions for

Detection of Diesel Engine Injector Faults Using Acoustic Emissions

open access: yes
This study investigated the method of identifying injector faults in a JCB 444T2 diesel engine using acoustic emission (AE) technique. Different kinds of injector faults were seeded in the four-cylinder, four-stroke, and turbo-engine.

Detecting faults in electronic combustion engine control systems by acoustic parameters

open access: yesВестник СибАДИ
Introduction. The process of ensuring the operability of transport and technological machines (TTM) presupposes regular checking of its technical condition by diagnosing various units, assemblies and systems, including electronic systems for monitoring ...

Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Implications of aero-engine deterioration for a military aircraft's performance [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
World developments have led the armed forces of many countries to become more aware of how their increasingly stringent financial budgets are spent. Major expenditure for military authorities is upon aero-engines.

Laboratory Tests of Electrical Parameters of the Start-Up Process of Single-Cylinder Diesel Engines

open access: yesEnergies
Despite continuous work on new power systems for vehicles, machines, and devices, the combustion engine is still the dominant system. The operation of the combustion engine is initiated during the starting process using starting devices.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Using CFD in engine design [PDF]

open access: yes
In this thesis the author presents two areas of work; exploring the integration of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) into engine design for Jaguar Cars Ltd and developing a novel 'mesh construction' method for making mesh generation both easy and fast.

NOx Emission Prediction Based on Measurement of in-Cylinder Pressure for CI Engine Running with Diesel and Biodiesel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
NOx is one of the major toxic emissions that needs to be regulated stringently in both EU and USA emission regulations. The engine designer is keen to get an accurate, reliable and cost effective NOx measurement system.

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.
