Synthesis and Application of a Thermoplastic Plate of Poly(lactide-ε-caprolactone) for Radiation Therapy

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2019
In this study, the poly(lactide-ε-caprolactone) (P(LA-CL)) copolymer is synthesized by ring-opening polymerization with glycol used as a molecular weight regulator to adjust the molecular weight of the polymer.

Optomechanical cooling in a continuous system

open access: yes, 2018
Radiation-pressure-induced optomechanical coupling permits exquisite control of micro- and mesoscopic mechanical oscillators. This ability to manipulate and even damp mechanical motion with light---a process known as dynamical backaction cooling---has ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Chiroptical switching and strong circularly polarized luminescence in peptide supramolecular assemblies

open access: yesNature Communications
Peptide-based materials offer unique advantages for constructing supramolecular chiral systems due to their bioactivity and intrinsic chirality. However, precise control over the expression, transfer, and amplification of chirality from the molecular to ...

Bioinspired vine-wrapped PEEK/PAR nanocomposite paper with hierarchical interface coupling for enhanced dielectric strength and aging stability

open access: yesAdvanced Industrial and Engineering Polymer Research
This study presents a high-value green recycling strategy for waste polyetheretherketone (PEEK) to fabricate a bioinspired “vine-wrapping” nanocomposite insulating paper from recycled PEEK fibers and self-prepared polyarylate (PAR) nanofibers.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

The PI3Kδ inhibitor roginolisib (IOA‐244) preserves T‐cell function and activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Identification of novel PI3K inhibitors with limited immune‐related adverse effects is highly sought after. We found that roginolisib and idelalisib inhibit chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells and Treg suppressive functions to similar extents, but roginolisib affects cytotoxic T‐cell function and promotion of pro‐inflammatory T helper subsets to a
