Low Temperature-Mediated Enhancement of Photoacoustic Imaging Depth [PDF]
AbstractWe study the temperature dependence of the underlying mechanisms related to the signal strength and imaging depth in photoacoustic imaging. The presented theoretical and experimental results indicate that imaging depth can be improved by lowering the temperature of the intermediate medium that the laser passes through to reach the imaging ...

Video-rate volumetric neuronal imaging using 3D targeted illumination [PDF]
Fast volumetric microscopy is required to monitor large-scale neural ensembles with high spatio-temporal resolution. Widefield fluorescence microscopy can image large 2D fields of view at high resolution and speed while remaining simple and costeffective.

Optical clearing-aided photoacoustic microscopy with enhanced resolution and imaging depth [PDF]
Due to strong light scattering in tissue, both the spatial resolution and maximum penetration depth of optical-resolution photoacoustic microscopy (OR-PAM) deteriorate sharply with depth.

Computational integral imaging with enhanced depth sensitivity [PDF]
Abstract A novel computational integral imaging technique with enhanced depth sensitivity is proposed. For each lateral position at a given depth plane, the dissimilarity between corresponding pixels of the elemental images is measured and used as a suppressing factor for that position. The intensity values are aggregated to determine the correct depth

Spatial and Angular Resolution Enhancement of Light Fields Using Convolutional Neural Networks [PDF]
Light field imaging extends the traditional photography by capturing both spatial and angular distribution of light, which enables new capabilities, including post-capture refocusing, post-capture aperture control, and depth estimation from a single shot.

GPGPU based Depth Image Enhancement Algorithm
In this paper, we propose a noise reduction and hole removal algorithm in order to improve the quality of depth images when they are used for creating 3D contents. In the proposed algorithm, the depth image and the corresponding color image are both used. First, an intensity image is generated by converting the RGB color space into the HSI color space.
