Lipid Metabolism Regulation Based on Nanotechnology for Enhancement of Tumor Immunity
The hallmarks of cancer include dysregulated metabolism and immune evasion. As a basic way of metabolism, lipid metabolism is reprogrammed for the rapid energy and nutrient supply in the occurrence and development of tumors.

Cofactor Engineering for Enhancing the Flux of Metabolic Pathways [PDF]
The manufacture of a diverse array of chemicals is now possible with biologically engineered strains, an approach that is greatly facilitated by the emergence of synthetic biology. This is principally achieved through pathway engineering in which enzyme activities are coordinated within a genetically amenable host to generate the product of interest. A

Laminin matrix regulates beta-cell FGFR5 expression to enhance glucose-stimulated metabolism
We previously showed that pancreatic beta-cells plated on laminin matrix express reduced levels of FGFR1, a receptor linked to beta-cell metabolism and differentiation.

Discovering the mechanism of enhanced metabolism in flufenacet resistant grass weeds
Inhibitors of very long chain fatty acid synthesis (VLCFAs, HRAC group K3) including flufenacet-based products are key herbicides in weed management strategies in particular of Western European cereal growing areas.

New Insights on the Diurnal Mechanism of Calcification in the Stony Coral, Stylophora pistillata
Scleractinian corals are evolutionary-successful calcifying marine organisms, which utilize an endo-symbiotic relationship with photosynthetic dinoflagellate algae that supply energy products to their coral hosts.

Brassinosteroid regulates secondary metabolism in tomato towards enhanced tolerance to phenanthrene
We investigated the role of 24-epibrassinolide (EBR) in the amelioration of phenanthrene (PHE) stress in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.). Exposure to PHE (300 μM) significantly decreased shoot and root length (19 and 16 %, respectively), fresh mass (35 ...

Myogenin regulates exercise capacity and skeletal muscle metabolism in the adult mouse. [PDF]
Although skeletal muscle metabolism is a well-studied physiological process, little is known about how it is regulated at the transcriptional level. The myogenic transcription factor myogenin is required for skeletal muscle development during embryonic ...

Enhancement of Ischemic Myocardial Metabolic Derangement by Glibenclamide
We examined whether opening of the ATP-sensitive potassium (KATP) channels in the ischemic myocardium plays an important cardioprotective role during ischemia. Dogs were anesthetized with sodium pentobarbital (30 mg/kg, i.v.). Sixty minutes after treatment of the dog with glibenclamide (0.3 or 3 mg/kg, i.v.), the LAD was ligated.
