Enhancing cocaine metabolism with butyrylcholinesterase as a treatment strategy

Drug and Alcohol Dependence, 1997
Existing pharmacodynamic approaches to cocaine abuse treatment have not been widely successful. An alternative, pharmacokinetic, approach is to enhance cocaine metabolism by administration of butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), a major cocaine-metabolizing enzyme in primates.

Nanotechnology Reprogramming Metabolism for Enhanced Tumor Immunotherapy

ACS Nano
Mutation burden, hypoxia, and immunoediting contribute to altered metabolic profiles in tumor cells, resulting in a tumor microenvironment (TME) characterized by accumulation of toxic metabolites and depletion of various nutrients, which significantly hinder the antitumor immunity via multiple mechanisms, hindering the efficacy of tumor immunotherapies.

Enhancement of Hypoxic Pulmonary Vasoconstriction by Metabolic Acidosis in Dogs

Anesthesiology, 1990
The effects of HCl infusion on multipoint mean pulmonary arterial pressure (PAP)/cardiac index (CI) plots in pentobarbital-anesthetized dogs whose lungs were ventilated alternately in hyperoxia (fraction of inspired O2 [FIO2], 0.4) and hypoxia (FIO2, 0.1) were investigated.

Targeting lipid metabolism to enhance cancer immunotherapy

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Reviews on Cancer
In recent years, the interaction between lipid metabolism and immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has become a key area of research in cancer treatment. Tumor cells utilize lipid metabolism reprogramming to promote rapid proliferation, evade immune surveillance, and develop resistance to treatment, highlighting the significant role of lipid metabolism ...
