Physicochemical properties of enrofloxacin

Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 1997
The physicochemical properties of enrofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone that inhibits the activity of bacterial DNA gyrase, are described. Its spectral, solubility and related physicochemical characteristics are discussed. The dissociation behaviour of enrofloxacin was examined by UV spectrophotometry at 25 degrees C in a series of buffers ranging from pH 1 ...

Effects of ball milling on the photochemistry of biochar: Enrofloxacin degradation and possible mechanisms

, 2020
Ball-milled biochar with enhanced physicochemical and sorption properties has been intensively investigated, but its photochemistry is far less studied.

Microbiological assay for enrofloxacin injection

International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2004
A simple, sensitive and specific agar diffusion bioassay for the antibacterial enrofloxacin was developed. Using a strain of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538P as the test organism, enrofloxacin at concentrations ranging from 3.2 to 12.8 microg ml(-1) could be measured in injection. A prospective validation of the method showed that method was linear (r =

Pharmacokinetics of enrofloxacin in turkeys

Research in Veterinary Science, 2007
The pharmacokinetics of enrofloxacin (EFL) and its active metabolite ciprofloxacin (CIP) was investigated in 7-8 month old turkeys (6 birds per sex). EFL was administered intravenously (i.v.) and orally (p.o.) at a dose 10 mg kg(-1) body weight. Blood was taken prior to and at 0.17, 0.33, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 24 h following drug administration.

Cattail fibers as source of cellulose to prepare a novel type of composite aerogel adsorbent for the removal of enrofloxacin in wastewater.

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2021
In this study, cattail was researched as a natural cellulose source to extract cellulose. Dewaxing, alkali and bleaching treatments were carried out for the cattail fibers (CFs).

Adsorption interactions between typical microplastics and enrofloxacin: Relevant contributions to the mechanism.

Chemosphere
Microplastics (MPs) are increasingly contaminating the environment and they can combine with antibiotics as carriers to form complex contaminants. In this study, we systematically investigated the interactions between the antibiotic enrofloxacin (ENR ...

Residual enrofloxacin in cattle manure increased persistence and dissemination risk of antibiotic resistance genes during anaerobic digestion.

Journal of Environmental Management, 2022
Anaerobic digestion is a common approach to dispose and recycle livestock manures, and the agricultural application of anaerobic digestives represents an important pathway of spreading antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) from livestock manures to soils ...

Fate of Enrofloxacin in Swine Sewage

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2004
The fate of enrofloxacin present in raw sewage at a swine-breeding facility was investigated by liquid-liquid extraction and reversed-phase liquid chromatography with photodiode array detection. Samples were collected in the storage pits of each pigsty and in a nonaerated lagoon used to stock the sewage.

Combining GC-MS/MS with a LLE-SPE sample pretreatment step to simultaneously analyse enrofloxacin and ofloxacin residues in chicken tissues and pork.

Food Chemistry
A widely applicable original gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS) method was explored to qualitatively and quantitatively measure enrofloxacin and ofloxacin residues in chicken tissues and pork.

A metal-organic framework signaling probe-mediated immunosensor for the economical and rapid determination of enrofloxacin in milk.

Food Chemistry
Ensuring the safety of animal-derived foods requires the reliable and swift identification of enrofloxacin residues to monitor the presence of antibiotics.
