Correlate not optional: PP sprouting and parallelism in “much less” ellipsis
Clauses that are parallel in form and meaning show processing advantages in ellipsis and coordination structures (Frazier et al. 1984; Kehler 2000; Carlson 2002).

Cultural Evolution Entails (Creativity Entails (Concept Combination Entails Quantum Structure))
The theory of natural selection cannot describe how early life evolved, in part because acquired characteristics are passed on through horizontal exchange. It has been proposed that culture, like life, began with the emergence of autopoietic form, thus its evolution too cannot be described by natural selection.

In this paper we study a graph-based approach to the task of Recognizing Textual Entailment between a Text and a Hypothesis. The approach takes into account the full lexico-syntactic context of both the Text and Hypothesis and is based on the concept of ...

International audienceInspired by the work of Lorenzen on the theory of preordered groups in the forties and fifties, we define regular entailment relations and show a crucial theorem for this structure.

Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Recognizing Partial Textual Entailment
Textual entailment is an asymmetric relation between two text fragments that describes whether one fragment can be inferred from the other. It thus cannot capture the notion that the target fragment is “almost entailed” by the given text.

Lexical entailment for information retrieval
. Textual Entailment has recently been proposed as an application independent task of recognising whether the meaning of one text may be inferred from another. This is potentially a key task in many NLP applications.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

A question-entailment approach to question answering
Background One of the challenges in large-scale information retrieval (IR) is developing fine-grained and domain-specific methods to answer natural language questions.

VINCULUM. Entailment identity: construction, transmission, perpetuation
This book is about identity, one that no longer exists and can only be understood through an exercise in historicisation and otherness. Entailment identity refers to the way in which identity was built, transmitted and perpetuated through entails, a ...
