Beta-lactamase antimicrobial resistance in Klebsiella and Enterobacter species isolated from healthy and diarrheic dogs in Andhra Pradesh, India [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinary World, 2017
Aim: The aim of this study was to characterize beta-lactamase antimicrobial resistance in Klebsiella and Enterobacter species isolated from healthy and diarrheic dogs in Andhra Pradesh. Materials and Methods: A total of 136 rectal swabs were collected

Inducible  -lactamase in Enterobacter [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Microbiology, 1967
SUMMARY: Production of βf-lactamase by nine strains of the genus Enterobacter (eight Enterobacter cloacae, one E. aerogenes) was studied to determine its in-ducibility. Induction was observed with benzylpenicillin (500 μg./ml.) in all except one strain.

Rapid Identification of Enterobacteriaceae in Milk and Dairy Products with the Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization–Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS)

open access: yesScientific Papers Animal Science and Biotechnologies, 2023
Identification of microorganisms by MALDI-TOF MS Biotyper has been demonstrated to be accurate, rapid and lower cost than conventional food investigation methods.

First report of Enterobacter cloacae as a causative agent of soft rot disease in dragon fruit (Hylocereus undatus) stems in Peru

open access: yesPeruvian Journal of Agronomy, 2019
The objective of the present research was to identify the causal agent of soft rot disease in the stems of pitahaya plants (Hylocereus undatus (Haw.) Britton & Rose), also known as dragon fruit, in two production areas of Peru.

Molecular characteristics of extended-spectrum beta-lactamases and qnr determinants in Enterobacter species from Japan. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
The incidence of extended-spectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs) has been increasing worldwide, but screening criteria for detection of ESBLs are not standardized for AmpC-producing Enterobacteriaceae such as Enterobacter species.

Bacteria as Ovipositional Attractants for \u3ci\u3eAedes Aegypti\u3c/i\u3e (Diptera: Culicidae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The effectiveness of selected bacterial species as ovipositional attractants for Aedes aegypti was compared. Bacterial washes, in glass containers, were utilized as ovipositional substrates and subsequent egg counts determined the degree of ovipositional

In vitro response of Enterobacter to ampicillin [PDF]

open access: yesAntimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, 1979
Three strains of Enterobacter were studied for their response to ampicillin. They exhibited a basic level of resistance that depended on the medium used and high-level mutational resistance at a frequency of 10(-5) to 10(-7). Two classes of mutants were selected, one of which showed markedly enhanced antibiotic inactivation as indicated by a biological

Copper Stress Response of Antibiotic‐Resistant and Copper‐Tolerant Enterococcus faecium and the Antibacterial Efficacy of Functionalized Copper Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study examines how different laser‐patterned copper and brass surfaces, including copper coatings, affect the survival of vancomycin‐resistant Enterococcus faecium. Using microscopy and genome analysis, the results show that copper tolerance varies between strains and can increase after vancomycin exposure.

Biological control and biomass evaluation of Botrytis cinerea : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Applied Science at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The efficacy of biocontrol agents is often judged by symptom development on inoculated plants. This process can involve long delays, as with Botrytis infection of kiwifruit and an alternative, quicker approach would be useful.

Enterobacter Meningitis and Challenges in Treatment

open access: yesJOURNAL OF CLINICAL AND DIAGNOSTIC RESEARCH, 2016
Neurosurgical interventions are rarely associated with meningitis with a very low incidence rate ranging from 1.1% to 2.5%. Gram negative bacillary meningitis first described in the 1940's, previously uncommon has been increasing in the recent past associated with advanced age, immunosuppression and neurosurgery.
