A solvent tolerant isolate of Enterobacter aerogenes.
Bioresource technology, 2006A solvent tolerant strain of Enterobacter aerogenes was isolated from soil by cyclohexane enrichment. Presence of cyclohexane (20%) in culture media prolonged the lag phase and caused reduction in biomass. Transmission electron micrographs showed convoluted cell membrane and accumulation of solvent in case of the cells grown in cyclohexane.

[Outbreak of Enterobacter aerogenes in paediatric unit].
Medecine et maladies infectieuses, 2005Within the framework of breast milk control the hygiene laboratory of Brest hospital isolates, on 3 January 1996 a strain of Enterobacter aerogenes secretory of cephalosporinase in the breast milk of a mother whose child was hospitalized in neonatalogy. On 15 April 1996 a new strain of E. aerogenes is isolated from another mother's breast milk.

Hydrogen Production by Facultative Anaerobe Enterobacter aerogenes
2007Enterobacter aerogenes is a facultative anaerobic bacterium. It grows under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions. In our experiments, it assimilated glucose at a rate as high as 17 mmol glucose/(g-dry cell h) and consequently evolved hydrogen at near-equal speed.

[Purification and properties of chitinase from Enterobacter aerogenes].
Wei sheng wu xue bao = Acta microbiologica Sinica, 2004A bacterium producing chitinase was isolated from the dead body of Gymephorap ruoergensis. A chitinase was isolated from the culture of E. aerogenes and purified by means of ammonium sulfate precipitation, DEAE-cellulose column chromatography, and Sephadex G-100 column gel filtration.
