Proteus vulgaris, Escherichia coli, and Citrobacter freundii cells were devoid of hydrogenase activity when grown on complex medium or minimal medium plus glucose in the presence of saturating levels of dissolved oxygen. Anaerobically grown cells had appreciable hydrogenase activity.

[Interpretive reading of enterobacteria antibiograms].

The resistance pattern observed in the antibiogram of an isolate should be the sum of its natural resistance pattern, characteristic of the species, plus the acquired resistances. In Enterobacteriaceae, the production of inactivating enzymes is the main mechanism of resistance to beta-lactams and aminoglycosides.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
