Alcoholic extracts from flowers, leaves, and shoots of Russian sage decreased downy mildew severity on grapevine leaf disks. Fractionation followed by metabolomic analysis revealed putative terpenoids as the main components of the active fractions. Specifically, 7‐methylrosmanol, 12‐O‐methylcarnosic acid, carnosic acid, and carnosol were identified as ...

Effects of medium and inoculum variations on screening for high-level aminoglycoside resistance in Enterococcus faecalis [PDF]
Enterococcus faecalis isolates that are refractory to aminoglycoside-penicillin synergy can be detected by their ability to grow in the presence of high concentrations of aminoglycoside (2,000 μg/ml).

This study establishes a human immunocompetent colitis‐on‐chip model that mimics inflamed gut mucosa and enables quantitative analysis of Candida albicans tissue invasion under DSS‐induced injury. It reveals that microbiota‐derived butyrate simultaneously stabilizes epithelial junctions and reprograms macrophages via HDAC/NLRP3‐dependent mechanisms ...

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.
