Biochemical Characterization of a Kunitz-Type Protease Inhibitor From Mimosa regnellii and Its Effects on Melanoma Cell Viability and Angiogenesis. [PDF]
A Kunitz‐type serine protease inhibitor (JTI) purified from Mimosa regnellii seeds selectively targets melanoma cells. JTI triggers mitochondrial apoptosis, increases ROS and Ca2+ levels, arrests the cell cycle, and suppresses migration and angiogenesis without affecting healthy cells.

Toxic Plants and Their Impact on Livestock Health and Economic Losses: A Comprehensive Review. [PDF]
Plants are important components in sustaining the life of humans and animals, balancing ecosystems, providing animal feed and edible food for human consumption, and serving as sources of traditional and modern medicine. However, plants can be harmful to both animals and humans when ingested, leading to poisoning regardless of the quantity consumed ...

Summary Generalised dose–response curves are essential to understand how plants acclimate to atmospheric CO2. We carried out a meta‐analysis of 630 experiments in which C3 plants were experimentally grown at different [CO2] under relatively benign conditions, and derived dose–response curves for 85 phenotypic traits.

Overcoming Seed Dormancy of Enterolobium contortisiliquum (Vell.) Morong
The use of new methods may facilitate the production of seedlings for reforestation since the seed market is scarce and seedlings take time to be produced. The Earpod tree is a native species that can be used for the floristic recomposition of the biome and with the possibility of using wood for commercial purposes.

Methods for overcoming dormancy and seed storage of <i>Enterolobium contortisiliquum [PDF]
The production of forest species that present seedlings with exogenous dormancy is limited by low germination rates, which can be overcome by rupturing or weakening the tegument. This study aimed to evaluate the efficiency of low-cost methods of overcoming dormancy and determine the effect of storage on the seeds of Enterolobium contortisiliquum.
