ABSTRACT Few studies describe the impact of rapid exome sequencing (ES) on pediatric cardiomyopathy in urgent clinical settings. Here, we retrospectively report the impact of rapid singleton ES in pediatric patients presented with acute heart failure and isolated cardiomyopathy or myocarditis, between 2021 and 2023 at a single tertiary care center.

Molecular Classification of Enteroviruses Not Identified by Neutralization Tests

Bacterial Extracellular Vesicles (BEVs) Derived from Chryseobacterium Inhibit Dengue Virus Infection by Disrupting Its Structural Integrity

This study elucidates a novel antiviral mechanism of bacterial BEVs, which are shown to inactivate viruses by triggering membrane fusion, subsequent lysis and causing structural collapse. This direct virucidal action presents a promising broad‐spectrum strategy against diverse enveloped viruses.

Recent studies indicate that, prior to cell lysis, naked viruses are packaged and released inside extracellular vesicles (EVs). This has been considered a pro‐viral mechanism because EV membranes protect enclosed virions from neutralizing antibodies.

Therapeutic Poxviruses Induce the Secretion of Immunostimulating and Anti‐Tumoral Extracellular Vesicles

Immune cells infected by therapeutic poxviruses release increased amounts of extracellular vesicles bearing viral proteins and therapeutic payloads. Such EVs have the ability to activate a CD8+ T‐cell mediated antitumoral immune response and decrease tumor growth.
