Establishment of the fungal entomopathogen beauveria bassiana as an endophyte in cocoa pods (Theobroma cacao L.)

open access: yesRevista U.D.C.A Actualidad & Divulgación Científica, 2010
The entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana was re-isolated from surface sterilized pieces of the cocoa pod outer section and peduncle, two and three months after flowers of greenhouse cocoa plants were hand-pollinated and sprayed with a 1x107 mL-1 ...

The genome and stage‐specific transcriptomes of the carrot weevil, Listronotus oregonensis, reveal adaptive mechanisms for host specialisation and symbiotic interactions

open access: yesInsect Molecular Biology, EarlyView.
Comprehensive genome and stage‐specific transcriptomes reveal 14,637 genes in Listronotus oregonensis, advancing genetic insights into a key agricultural pest. Compared with related species, L. oregonensis exhibits reduced chemoreceptor gene families but expanded detoxification gene clusters, reflecting its narrow host range and adaptability.

Exploiting the behaviour of wild malaria vectors to achieve high infection with fungal biocontrol agents

open access: yesMalaria Journal, 2012
Background Control of mosquitoes that transmit malaria has been the mainstay in the fight against the disease, but alternative methods are required in view of emerging insecticide resistance. Entomopathogenic fungi are candidate alternatives, but to date,

Effect of Fungicides on Entomopathogenic Fungus, Verticillium lecanii.

open access: yesJapanese journal of applied entomology and zoology, 1998

Seeing Through an Ant's Eyes: Do Entomopathogenic Fungi Extend Their Cognition to Their Hosts?

open access: yesTopics in Cognitive Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Post‐cognitivist approaches recognize cognition as a phenomenon that involves not just brains but all the sensorimotor apparatus of organisms. This means that brains are not always required for the emergence of cognition and that every organism can, in principle, be cognitive, unlocking a theoretical framework to explain the complex adaptive ...

Lipid composition of the entomopathogenic fungus Nomuraea rileyi

open access: yesJournal of Invertebrate Pathology, 1984
Abstract The total lipid content, neutral and polar lipid composition, and fatty acid profiles were determined for the different developmental stages of the entomopathogenic fungus, Nomuraea rileyi . In general, the lipid composition of N. rileyi was found to be very similar to that of other Fungi Imperfecti. Triacylglycerides and sterols were the

Mycoponics: Controlled Bioproduction Utilizing Biophysical, Solid‐State, Liquid Nutrient Delivery

open access: yesBiotechnology Journal, Volume 21, Issue 2, February 2026.
Graphical Abstract and Lay Summary Mycoponic biotechnology, inspired by hydroponics—is enabled by antimicrobial ceramics as “substrate,” using a complete mycoponic media for continuous bioproduction of mycelial and mushroom products. Applications include food, mycoleather, and mycopharmaceuticals, representing 18% of the global market.
